RDA is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of architecture, urban design, and the built environment in the Houston region through educational programs, the publication of Cite:  The Architecture + Design Review of Houston, and the promotion of physical improvements in the city. Membership is open to the general public. With over 2,000 members, RDA represents a wide professional constituency. RDA has a history of public service in design issues for Houston, a record of success in previous design competitions (Sesquicentennial Park, 1985, and Heart of the Park, 1992), and a journal, Cite, which has a wide circulation of those interested in the quality of Houston’s built environment.

AIA Houston is a 501 (c)(6) nonprofit professional organization with over 1,700 architects, urban designers, and affiliated firm members.

RDA and AIA Houston represent the most comprehensive and organized groups dealing with architecture and urban design issues in Houston. Both organizations have a successful track record of collaborating with other civic and private groups.
